In conjunction with it's sponsorship of the PBS series Design: e2, Autodesk has recently launched the Sustainability Center. The new site is dedicated to all aspects of Sustainable Design. It features articles about Projects, Innovations, Visionaries and Related Links.

Green Building Studio Version 2.0 Launch!

Green Building Studio announced the launch Version 2.0 yesterday (June 1).

This versions enhancements include the following:

GBS Version 2.0
Design Alternatives - ability to modify constructions, glazing type & amount, orientation, HVAC class, and lighting efficacy and control.
EnergyPlus IDF files are now enabled for download and offline use.
Single-Family building types.
Database updates with 2004 ASHRAE requirements
Database updates with 2005 California Title-24 requirements

Updated ADT plug-in
Internal gains can be specified
Model checking capabilities.

Revit Building, Revit Systems, and Building Systems
Enhanced information sharing with MEP
Ability to specify occupancies and loads by space (Systems only)

New PBS series "Design: e2"

  • Is a new PBS series geared toward being more enviromentally concious. This six-part series is narrated by Brad Pitt and focuses on everything from Sustainable Architecture (Green Building Design) to Organic Farming. Autodesk is a sponsor of the program.
